According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 50 reverse osmosis plant over 100 tons/hour that have been built or under construction in my country, but with the exception of a few electronics industries, most of them are concentrated on the use of boiler make-up water. It was originally a thermal power plant, and later expanded to oil refining, petrochemical, fertilizer, chemical and other industries. The largest scale is 600t/h, and it is expected that there will be an ultra-large reverse osmosis water treatment device of more than 1000t/h this century. China has accumulated rich experience in design, construction and operation in this field. At present, more than 10 water treatment engineering companies in China have undertaken reverse osmosis devices with a scale of more than 100 tons per hour.

The application of drinking water treatment is limited to small and medium scale
Foreign urban water supply systems mostly use ultra-large-scale reverse osmosis or nanofiltration devices of 1,000 to 10,000 tons/hour, while domestic drinking water reverse osmosis devices are mostly small and medium-sized devices below tens of tons/hour. With the development of economy and the popularization of membrane technology, this field has broad prospects for development.

The application of oilfield water and wastewater treatment needs to be developed
Due to the high technical difficulty and high economic cost of application in this field, China is still in the research and development stage. With the development of the petroleum industry, water reuse and environmental protection, it is not far away for a large number of membrane technologies to enter this field. This is also a business opportunity for membrane manufacturers and engineering companies.
4. The application of nanofiltration membranes has just begun
